eBay Fee Calculator UK
Estimate eBay UK private or business seller proceeds, Buyer Protection, promoted listing fees and optional seller-paid postage.
Choose the right seller profile
UK private selling and UK business selling use different fee structures. Start with your seller status, then select a supported product category. The private preset is for an eligible domestic non-motor sale by a UK-resident seller; business presets include their described category charges.
Buyer price versus seller price
For a private sale you can enter either the price the buyer sees, including Buyer Protection, or the price you set before that charge. These are different numbers: an item set at £100 has an estimated buyer-facing price of £104.70; a £100 buyer-facing price leaves approximately £95.48 before an attributed ad fee.
Promoted listings and postage
Enter an ad percentage only when the sale incurs that promoted listing charge. Ad VAT is editable. If you cover postage, enter your own postage payment to deduct it once from your proceeds. The tool does not add postage charged to a buyer.
What the result means
You receive is your estimated payout after the modelled platform charges. It is not profit after purchasing the item. Account-specific adjustments, refunds, international costs and rounding may change the invoice.
Common questions
Does free private selling mean the buyer price equals my payout?
No. A buyer-facing price includes the Buyer Protection charge where applicable. The seller-set price and the amount the buyer sees must be distinguished.
Is postage compulsory?
No. Leave seller-paid postage at zero if you do not want to deduct it.
Revenue is only half the story.
